About Us

At Response Audio, we believe that music is an essential part of life. The founder, Bill Baker (thats me) started Response Audio in the fall of 1996. Beginning in 2007, a good friend and I started Purity Audio Design where I have been since the beginning. In the spring of 2024, my partner wanted to go into high end retail and I wanted to continue building so we decided to go separate ways. Some of the products now found on this web site are enhanced versions of the products I designed for Purity Audio design that will now be offered under the Musica Bella umbrella.

The SET amplifiers and Segue v2 preamplifier were designed to provide music lovers of any budget with audiophile quality products at real world prices. Our goal is to get more people interested in quality music playback to appreciate what music can do for the soul and mind.

Musica Bella 2025

- Beginning early 2025, Response Audio will begin our small production of products that are the staple of Musica Bella products which will include a new standard look for the Segue v2, Foundation and Reference preamplifiers.

- All SET amplifiers will continue to be custom built to order

- The Harmonia will also continue to be custom designed and built to order. 

- We have discontinued the Master Series DHT Linestage and GaN FET Hybrid products.

Leftover Inventory

- Being the designer for Purity Audio Design, Response Audio currently has a few original chassis available that can be custom built to your preferences and system needs. You can save by choosing a design that fits into one of our leftover chassis. 

Once remaining chassis stock is depleted, Musica Bella products will be housed in their own purpose built chassis.

2025 Lineup 

Vivace EL84: The Vivace is a 3-4 wpc integrated amplifier built on the EL84. 

 Reference Linestage - We currently have two chassis available for Reference/Statement Linestages. We can custom built these pieces to original design specs or custom build to your needs. A new, lower cost version will become available first quarter 2025.

Foundation Linestage- At this time, we are custom building these preamplifiers into the custom chassis we obtained for the Harmonia. We now have a new look for our future runs of the Foundation.

Segue Unity Gain Linestage -  The Segue will remain as a custom built-to-order staple product. A beautiful match to our SET amplifiers.

Single Ended DHT Amplifiers - We will continue to offer these pieces on a custom built basis with several chassis and component options.

Harmonia DHT Output Stage - The Harmonia will remain in our lineup as it still remains one of the most unique products in our industry.
